...62% of the people who voted in the Globe's poll so far are not pleased that the government survived.

Well, I'm pleased. It's not that I have any particular fondness for the Liberals, but I would like to wait until the Gomery inquiry finishes up. Also, I do not wish to have a June election. I would have been very bitter and angry if Stephen Harper had managed to pull off a June election. The weather is just getting nice, and I have better things to do with my time (like renovate my house, move into it, spend time at the cottage, and drink beer) than listen to a bunch of politicians trying to get elected for the second time in just one year. Grrrr.

Traditionally, if I'm not mistaken, most of my fellow citizens feel the same way. We punish people who make us sit through spring/summer election campaigns. Just a thought, Stephen.

I really, really didn't want to have to go and vote three days before my due date :p

ya, I was SCREAMING at all the people the local CBC affiliate talked to about the vote yesterday. "Oh, I don't care, I don't vote, I'm neutral."

"I don't read the papers or watch teh news"

"huh what"

"Stupid children"

"They need to focus on business"

"I don't care."

"Absolutely I care, they are wasting my tax dollars" (um, yes, and what do you think a precipitous election does?)

"they are not good politicians"

"We need an election, it will be better for Western Canada to get Harper and his friends in" -- yep, iffn you want the dark ages, be my guest (hey, I got rightish leanings on some things, but c'mon - Harper=scary).

And, the kicker "I think it's time to up and move to the states" -- why yes, buddy, go for it, cuz things are SOOOOOO much better there. *eyeroll*

I was so. scfreaming. at the idiots being played on the radio. But then the CBC played a comedy sketch with the fall line up from the Liberal television network and my annoyance dissipated.

indeed. *GRUMBLE* the first one really got to me - "I don't vote, I don't pay attention, but its not apathy, its neutrality" -- delusions of grandeur much?

*STTTOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPPPPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDDD*

Ahem. Righteous indignation is fun. ;)

That's 63 per cent of the Globe's online readers, which since they went subscriber only is not as reprsentative as it might once have been.

FICATHON. FICATHON. FICATHON.

Hiho,

The ctv.ca poll is a lot closer. 51% there are not happy.

I don't get Canadians sometimes. I really don't...

Cu,
Andrew

I can't say I'm thrilled with the present government either (or, more accurately, thrilled with the party), but I sure as hell don't want Stephen Harper in there - he's a creepy son of a bitch.

And yeah, I wouldn't appreciate a June election either, but no matter when it was, I wouldn't vote for Harper. Yeecch.
