Jun. 20th, 2005 06:31 pmHmmm. I think I have a few too many people on my reading list. I meant to get out of here half an hour ago. An unfortunate consequence of my otherwise welcome success at restraining myself from obsessively checking LJ every five minutes.
Weekend: good. Friday night, went out to Bloor near Christie Pits with Cranky and J and J to eat sushi and listen to the One Night Stands, which turned out to be way fun.
Saturday, spent for freaking ever looking at appliances with my dad, which was actually really great and helpful but also really exhausting. I'm learning so much more about appliances than I ever thought was possible. My mother wisely sat in the car and read. For about four hours. She says she has done her time looking at appliances and doesn't feel the need to do any more of it. She also says whatever I buy will be fine, which is comforting. Then, thank goodness, we went up to the cottage. Overcast and windy, but nice. (Oh, and we spent another hour looking for the Saturday Globe. It was essential that we find it. I blame
monkeycommando.)
Sunday: ate some more, wandered back down to the city in time for Doctor Who (CBC was rerunning the first episode, which I managed to miss the first time). I am enjoying this show so very much. (They're promoting it pretty heavily, too, with mini interviews and features all over the schedule.)
Work continues under control; it's almost miraculous, really. Wonderful what hiring another writer and dumping a week's worth of high-concentration-required work on her can accomplish.
And now, I am wandering off to my mum's concert.
