Aug. 19th, 2005 11:49 amMy computer, it is still dead. *sniffle* Luckily for me, although not so much for her, a colleague is sick today and I'm using hers. No word yet from IS.
My aunt returned to her regular updates on Wednesday after my computer went kablooey:
Wednesday evening I visited
monkeycommando and S and the baby, who was fussy but very cute. Did not get any housework done, as usual. Watched Grease instead. Ah well.
Wednesday was also supposed to be Permit Day, but I haven't heard a word so far. Perhaps I'll call again today. Maybe City Hall is running Windows 2000...?
Spent yesterday largely out of touch with the world. Sigh. But life went on at the house:
I have more to say, but no time to say it. Much copy editing to be done. Cottage tonight. Cheers, all...
My aunt returned to her regular updates on Wednesday after my computer went kablooey:
I am resurrected.Yay, construction!
(David didn't even notice I'd insulted him and Dan in yesterday's email.)
Had broiled hot dogs for lunch.
Drywall is up on J's archway. David remarked it was very satisfying to see construction rather than destruction. Much further drywall awaits electrical and plumbing inspection. Dan remarked on the amount of plaster dust.
John did the wire for R's clothes dryer and came home yesterday covered with smears of black goo from the baffling. He's looking for another way to wire the washer.
John met with Dennis about the plastic plumbing.
The bracket for the fan in R's bedroom has been mounted.
Cheers, Helen

Had crab quiche for lunch, and salad.J and I were supposed to go look at light fixtures, but couldn't get the car. Shucks darn. I went to see March of the Penguins at the Fox instead.
The hooligans are drywalling, and evidently quite pleased to be putting stuff up.
John says their favourite toy is now the spin saw. Even better than the X-drive drill because it has dozens of attachments. They've found that the best method is one person cuts and the other uses the shop vac, to avoid the aforementioned problem of plaster dust.
John took the morning off to help me with proof reading and do stuff with his computer.
Cheers, Helen
