House update: Monday

My aunt reports:

Today, we had for lunch corned beef sandwiches on marble rye, with garnish of dill pickles and cole slaw.

Water guys came this morning at 7:15. Had about 5 vehicles and had to roust a neighbour to move his. Dug big holes in the lawn and in the basement, and they are now all filled up, except for the sidewalk. Very efficient. John was really chuffed, and suggested I come over. I said no.

Steve, the insulation guy, is coming tomorrow.

So is the building inspector (thank you, Robin) with the different name.

Hooligans have been working on the dropped ceiling in Jen's bathroom. Tricky.

Stuart and Gill have been working on the third floor and the bathroom walls are finished.

Happy to report that yes, I did manage to get hold of the building inspection unit (they moved last week). The people on the Access Toronto desk looked mildly panicky when I walked in this morning and asked for the phone number 'cause I'd left it at home, but after a couple of tries and once being asked to try again in 10 mminutes because the phone I'd called wasn't properly hooked up and they were all in chaos, I got through. Hurray for progress!
