Check it out! Progress! My aunt reports:
Today for lunch Sonia nobly provided, on short notice, mushroom soup and corned beef and turkey sandwiches to Dennis, Dan and John. Myself was at a meeting.Addendum: some geekliness from my uncle, regarding the effectiveness of the insulation (I dropped by the house Saturday as we were preparing to go up to the cottage and found him installing a minimum/maximum thermometer on the 3rd floor):
Dennis has all but completed the copper piping and work is proceeding on finishing the plastic plumbing. Others finished the trim in two bathrooms for Brian the Tile, and installed bathroom drain and overflow in Jen's bathroom.
They filled in the holes in the insulation with some canned stuff. (Yesterday, John was working on the sound insulation and, as we went off for Uncle John's memorial at the University Club, found we did not have, anywhere, stuff to dissolve it. So, while he was filling the car he spilled gasoline on his hands. It worked a treat. He smelled bad so I sent him to the restaurant washroom.)
Dave will be in tomorrow and Friday. Yom Kippur.
Plans to start drywalling on third floor.
Cheers all, Helen
We talked about this at the Memorial, but just to recap, the maximum since Saturday morning has been 17C and the minimum 12C. Over the same period, wunderground.com reports a maximum of 15C and a minimum of 5C for "Toronto" -- probably Pearson Airport, where the variation is likely to be wider than it is close to the lake (not warmer though: the temperature at the lakeshore now is the same as at Pearson).
Not bad for unheated...
Cheers,
John
