well, there are free if misspelled hors d'oeuvres, and cocktails. So we can always drown our sorrows in food and booze. And it's a chance to meet new people outside my delightful but smallish social circle. So thank you -- I think it will be!

It does sound like it could be fun. Of course I have never been speed dating (I live in the middle of nowhere - there are no eligible men in the area - only sheep - I really need to consider moving :) )

I've never been speed dating either, but it does seem like a relatively risk- and pain-free way to go even if you don't meet anyone you'd like to see again ever. I will of course report back. ;)
