House update: Monday
Feb. 13th, 2006 02:25 pmMy aunt reports:
On Saturday I helped move stuff out of my kitchen so that Dave and Dan
could work on the ceiling vapour barrier and firring strips. Managed to
get myself even more covered with black goo. Then I shoved Safe 'n' Sound
into the first floor ceiling (my new specialty) and pondered the unsealed
headers on the party wall. Am assured they will be sealed. Jen scraped at
the kitchen floor. We got tired of this fairly quickly and left. Still,
progress was made.
I have a bunch of receipts, which I need to send off to the city so they
will pay us money for stuff.
Today for lunch, John and I had cheese fondue with bread,I can help with that...
carrots and cauliflower.
Bill is putting up drywall on the ceiling of Robin's bathroom.
John is reattaching duct work for the third floor bathroom and laundry.
On the weekend, David and Dan went to Rona and bought a power centre (aka
glorified power bar) for the basement. Also put up resilient channel in
Jen's bathroom.
I do not have a full account of Saturday because John absented himself to
make for friends grand aioli. That is a dish which is a collection of
boiled salt cod, eggs, beets, potatoes, cauliflower, beans and carrots,
served with a mayonnaise with so much garlic it burns your tongue. We have
good friends. They came. A grand time was had by all.
Cheers, Helen
