crankygrrl kindly phoned this morning to let me know my suspicions were baseless -- all four of the Toronto dailies had Cindy Klassen AND the hockey team on the front page. Quite right too. Well, except about the hockey team.

I had not seen one of the medals from Turino yet. Those are some hideous looking things. Like bagel chips on a ribbon. I wonder if they are solid gold?

CBC news was going on at length about the boys - but I missed the headlines for feeding sheeps and chickens, so they probably talked about the girlz FIRST.

Go GirlZ! I watched both the X-country AND the speed skating last night, and they were all So. Happy. the silver medalist in speed skating (Kristina?) looked So. Sad. when Klassen beat her time, but I though she showed GREAT class out there after a minute, on the Victory Lap and getting her flowers.

And Becky Scott showed class, too. I was actually wondering about something - it's probably WILD speculation. But Scott had the #1 bib in the final, with Chondra and the German and the (I think) Scandinavian. Apparently, Scott got to choose her lane, and according to the CBC announcer, chose poorly, while Chandra got a GREAT lane. I find myself wondernig if Scott knew that Crawford had a real chance of winning, better than she did, and chose her lane accordingly, to help Crawford....

and yes: Chandra=So. Cute. They interviewed her Mom and Dad last night, too, and she is cute like her Mom is cute. And these folks are ALL quintessentially southern Alberta. So. Cool ;).
