Friday I did very little, then went to the house and scraped Jen's kitchen floor for a bit and admired my floor (see previous entry). I now learn that we're not scraping Jen's kitchen floor any more as the floor guys will do it all. Sigh.

Then went over to Jen's for dinner, then we met [livejournal.com profile] crankygrrl for a drink at Fitzy's. During which I was reminded that very few people enjoy my jump-in-with-both-feet conversational/argumentative style. Sigh. Conversation's no fun if you can't get all impassioned, demand that people provide concrete examples, defend your position, and go for the throat!

Saturday: got up relatively early, repacked, and the three of us drove to Rochester via McDonald's, the Lewisport crossing (incredibly long and tedious, with vampires in the lane next to us; we were concerned because Jen had forgotten her passport, but it's not required yet), McDonald's again, and Target (the lines at the fitting rooms were so long I only took stuff I was reasonably sure would fit, so ended up with two tank tops and a beige linen skirt. Oh, and a tiny compass on a tiny carabinier, and a grey mini Maglite, because every urban girl needs a compass and a flashlight in her purse. I'd have bought household stuff if I'd been living in my house for a while, but I'm not sure what I need yet. The others were less restrained). Eagerly watched for signs of spring -- there were a few. Got to [livejournal.com profile] cretkid's around 4 (excellent directions!). Met the dog, house tour, waved at the cat (who looked at us *very* suspiciously), garden tour, collapsed in little heaps for a bit, then went off to eat dinner (at the Distillery, very nice) and watch the lacrosse game (Toronto lost, but the crowd was so happy Rochester won that it didn't sting too much). Some of the cheerleaders had bunny ears, it being Easter weekend.

Sunday Cret fed us an enormous breakfast, which we ate on the back deck because it was Spring, Dammit. I managed to forget a waffle in the waffle iron, but it was still edible. Then we headed home, stopping at Krispy Kreme (because when you've just eaten an enormous breakfast with waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and ham, what you really is need donuts) and then the Anchor Bar (because when you've just eaten an enormous breakfast etc. etc. AND DONUTS, what's really required to top it all off is a pound or so of buffalo wings apiece). Crossing back over the border took much less time.

Got home, walked Basta, took a nice long bath, ate ANOTHER enormous meal with the family (roast lamb, with roast onions, roast potatoes, peas, and squash, preceded by asparagus and smoked salmon and followed by chocolate Easter eggs and cookies and coffee and Limoncello -- I really don't need to eat anything for the next day or so).

A good weekend.

Hiho,

Conversation's no fun if you can't get all impassioned, demand that people provide concrete examples, defend your position, and go for the throat!

Well, hell yeah! :)

I hate to say it, hun, but as previously demonstrated, "impassioned" on you looks more like 'fucking pissed off and angry' and a lot of folks are going to feel attacked and offended and chose to discuss something else.

Hm. It's unfortunate that I can't think of any way to answer this comment without sounding bitchy, possibly proving your point.

I'll just STFU from now on, then.

Hiho,

Nah, just be sure to keep a smile on your face when you're impassioned. :)

Cu,
Andrew

It is true that I don't tend to get impassioned unless someone has said something that I violently disagree with and/or said it in a way that annoys me. So you could have a point. But anyway, probably best if we don't pursue it.
