My aunt reports:

Today for lunch, Dan, John and I had meatballs in a
tomato-vegetable sauce with penne.

This morning, Dan finished the resilient panel* and all but two sheets of
sonnapan on the first floor, and also worked on the front hall drywall
repairs necessary because of the cold air return.

John did wiring on the first for telephone, cable and TV. He started on
the mysterious process that is involved in repairing floor holes in the
first floor middle room.

John has gone off to Rona--again.
Cheers all, Helen

*Probably "channel".

My goodness, we are moving along. Did I mention that the floors look
amazing? Oh yes, so I did.

Wow, it is moving along now. If I don't swing by soon to do another installment of photos the next set I take are going to be titled 'After'. It sounds like the place is really starting to become quite house-like.

oh, not to worry. Plenty left to do and see! Starting with hooking up all the light fixtures and things... but yes, we ARE getting places and it's quite exciting!

What's a "resilient channel-panel"? Inquiring sloths want to know. And me.

what I MEANT... smartass... was "resilient channel" not "resilient channel". This stuff. (http://www.scafco.com/stud/channel.html)

Whether or not it will actually have the desired effect, given William's tendency to overbuild, remains to be seen. I think our house has gained several tonnes just from the weight of the screws.

oops...

Wow, that would have had so much more effect if I'd actually typed it right. "Resilient channel" not "resilient panel". I don't know what resilient panel is either. Or resilient channel-panel. ;P

Y'know, I just spent, I dunno, three slow minutes deconstructing "resilient channel" and "resilient channel" to figure out what you said and I didn't. After the first minute, the little voice in my head said "she meant "panel" the second time", but I didn't believe it.
