OMG I missed the wank! And the crazy! For hours! (Via cleolinda. Apparently the work in question is now gone like a gone thing that has George Lucas's lawyers after it.)
well, from what i saw at f_w the idjit author's website is gone, and apparently she claimed the "book" was being withdrawn... but the amazon link still works just fine, and i was able to add the "book" [*massiveeyeroll*] to my cart.
i'm torn between serious wtf-age at how incredibly, unthinkably STUPID someone in the editing/publishing world can be (with a degree in journalism!!!!) and just sheer amusement at the OMGWTF of it all. :D
That journal thread is rather amusing. I had no interest in checking out the "book" itself, knowing that Lucasfilm's lawyers would be all over it like ugly on a very ugly thing. (I'm too tired to come up with an apt analogy there. :) ) And having read sufficiently bad Mary Sue fiction over the years (some of which has even been published professionally), the prospect of reading more didn't particularly appeal to me.
