My aunt reports:

Today for lunch, Carol, Ken, John, Dan and I had club
sandwiches, plus grilled cheese and pickle.

Ken and Carol, unable to resist the lure of hooliganism, yesterday and
this morning wired plugs and switches. Carol said it was mindless and
satisfying. Will return as new wiring opportunities arise.

William mudded and taped, fixed a bulls-eye on one wall, and worked on the
first floor floor. Dan also worked on first floor floor.

John wired a receptacle, discussed repairs to the bay windows, and bought
beer.

Cheers, Helen

I want to be working on the house! Saturday, I guess.

How is poor wounded Dan? (you know he shot himself cuz you won't let him fix his closet, right?)

Excellent question! Although I maintain that he was just getting sloppy about the House Rules (which are, basically: No death! No cutting off limbs or digits! No losing of eyes!).

I'll ask.

Not wounded at all as it turns out:

Dan's finger wasn't actually wounded. Little red mark but the nail didn't pierce the skin. What was wounded was his pride.

Mind you, Ken wounded his fingers fiddling with wires today. But, again, not serious.
Glad you care.
Helen

ah, good. it was just a warning shot. But you'd better let him fix your closet, just in case.... *Snerk*

Seriously, I am really glad to hear things are going so well and that Dan is fine!!!

William mudded and taped, fixed a bulls-eye on one wall, and worked on the first floor floor.

Bulls-eye? Is this for target shooting with the nail finishing gun? (Note: it's for finishing metallic nails that go into walls to hold things up, not finishing fingernails. :) )

And I assume that "first floor floor" is not a stutter, but actually means the floor, ie. the thing you walk on, on the first floor, ie. the ground floor?

when I was a kid and could still eat dairy products, I LOVED grilled cheese sandwiches. When I was about 3, my parents would take me to a restaurant. I would INSIST on having a menu of MY OWN to "read" (cept for the part where I couldn't actually read that - i still WANTED to be able to, dammit!, and I was damn skippy gonna look like all the adults) and choose from. Apparently, I would study the menu intently. And when the waiter came to the table to take our order, I would say, very precisely, "I would like a grilled cheese sandwich, please." Didn't matter whether or not it was on the menu, I wanted my grilled cheese!

*sigh* that is the one thing I really miss since my body has rebelled against dairy products. For a while, I could tolerate goat's cheese and refound the love, but then this traitorous body decided even that pleasure would result in GI distress, so no more.
