Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers and mothers-to-be!
My aunt (who does not believe in Mother's Day) reports:
Saturday:
After I was done painting I went and had dinner with
monkeycommando and S and baby F, who is really getting big and was very cute (it's lovely to get a HUGE smile and a riveted expression when you walk in the door). Then the grown-ups (egads! I'm a grown-up!) watched Sky High, which was surprising amounts of fun. (The other options were Cinderella Man, which I'd seen already, and Capote, which was vetoed as probably too depressing in combination with Cinderella Man. I think we made the right choice.)
Sunday:
Jen and I have agreed that it's important to take note of milestones, because they do rather vanish from view once they are off the to-do list and we tend to forget how much we've actually accomplished.
Met
crankygrrl and Jen for coffee (an hour later than I said I would, but the dryer took a shockingly long time to get all the way in place) and then Jen drove me home. I'm supposed to be having dinner with my parents. It's in the oven, but I have no idea where they are.
My aunt (who does not believe in Mother's Day) reports:
Saturday:
Today for lunch, Robin, Jen, Dan, John and I had breakfast.
Robin is painting, Jen is cleaning and John is thinking about a sleeve to connect the vent hole and the microwave.
Dan is not on today. He will be deserting us to work for his mother. Talk about nepotism!!
John notes that the outside walls in The House are exactly one foot thick.
Cheers, Helen

Sunday:
Today was a day of stymieing. Opinion is there may be a conspiracy to prevent ordinary citizens from installing their own appliances. Nevertheless, Robin, Jen, Stuart and John worked away. And the washer and dryer are not going anywhere! They're all hooked up! Very exciting. Exciting enough that I don't mind too much about the dishwasher -- which was the appliance originally scheduled for installation today, but no such luck.
Appliances were installed: Robin's washer and dryer, light fixture and a vent. Jen and John went to Rona twice--once on foot (Queen Street) and once in the van.
Cheers, Helen.
