House update: Weekend

Friday I went out for drinks with colleagues, then met
crankygrrl for far too much sushi.
Saturday I got off to a slow start, but picked up a tester pot of paint for the dining room (Creamy Orange -- dreadful disappointment, much too peach; reminiscent of the colours in the house when we started out). My aunt can take it from there:
It rained all day. I went to
monkeycommando and S's for young FHOG's first birthday, which was lovely, and poker, which I am lousy at -- must learn the hands before I play again, because there's not much point otherwise. Although I must admit I am more a fan of games that are... I dunno, solvable. Sudoku's good. Bridge is good. Board games are good. Poker requires taking into account the idea that you may be getting bad information from your opponents; I suspect a slight impairment in the part of my brain that deals with that idea. Anyway, saw lots of people I haven't seen in a while.
Today I did bugger all in the morning, then went and got new tester pots, then realized that I didn't have enough time to do anything useful before choir rehearsal so went and had lunch on the Danforth. (Also bought The Fifth Elephant and some Filofax refills.) Then went and painted. My bedroom is now completely painted! Woohoo! (Except for trim, and the edges that need to be done again, and the landing and hall at the top of the stairs... but I don't particularly care about those.) Then went over to my aunt and uncle's and had Indian food and watched A Touch of Frost, as I am A Orphan at present.
Onward and upward.

Today for lunch, Rob, John and I had boughten tortierre and salad. Jen was also there, but still feeling dire, ate toast.*Although not very much.
Today, Rob painted.* John looked around and then cut absolutely correctly the hole for the sink--I told Rob to do a reality check--but another 3/8 of an inch needs to come out for the anchors.
Not too much action. John and I are a little etouffe from last night's Trinity 66 reunion.
Cheers, Helen
