House update: Monday
Jul. 17th, 2006 03:28 pmMy aunt reports:
Oh well, we can always visit each other. And at worst, paint is cheap.
Today for lunch, John and I had tuna salad sandwiches.Have I mentioned how much classier and subtler and more muted Jen's colours are, compared with mine? Well, they are. I really like my colours, but subtle they are not. I fear that we will end up with, respectively, Exhibit A, oasis of elegance, and Exhibit B, Circus Carnival Sideshow.
William worked on windows.
John picked up a sharpened saw blade, worked on bases on Jen's cabinets, worked out a way to fit in all Jen's cabinets without extra spaces and is now gone off to pick up cabinet backing.
Yesterday, I inspected. The hollyhocks in the front garden add a touch of rustic, domestic sincerity. I love hollyhocks. Jen's green's are luminous.
Cheers, Helen

Date: 2006-07-17 08:11 pm (UTC)In my house, there is:
• One room with one red wall
• One room with one dark green wall
• One room with one deep blue wall
so if you're a Carnival SideShow, I'm CrayolaLand! ;)
*the other three walls in each room are cream colored. Not to worry, people, even I'm not that much of a wacky artist type.
