Sometimes things just happen. Shrug. I've missed flights due to getting lost, as well as due to the airline screwing up, and the airport screwing up.

'Strue -- my parents did it once, coming back from Holland for Christmas.

Ironically, my mother thought she had been lying to my dad about the time the flight left so that they'd get there in plenty of time (my dad is notorious for cutting these things fine), but it turned out she'd been telling him the right time after all.

(They figured they were stuck there for sure, but luckily two tickets came available at just the right time, so they were home for Christmas after all.)
