Stayed up until 4, that is. And then to compound the horror I quoted Britney Spears! My secret shame: I actually kind of like some of her music.

But. I am DONE. My assignment, as it turns out, is simple: a "before" sitemap; a 3-column table explaining problems, examples, and proposed solutions and rationales; and an "after" sitemap. I hope it's enough. He did say he didn't want pages and pages. I may give him the Visio document as well; the site maps are kind of teeny tiny on the page.

Anyway, as my lab supervisor told me after I'd gotten an incomplete on my Phys Chem lab two semesters running, "Just hand it in! We'll mark it! We can't give you a mark if you don't hand it in!" (Or the moral equivalent thereof, in a Polish accent.)

This actually brings back some (fond?) memories of life at the last job and puttering over site maps until they were Right. I really do have the soul of an editor. I like to Fix Stuff and Make It Better. Site maps are such a pure opportunity to do that.

I also like Visio. I get on with it. At the current job we do our site maps in Adobe Illustrator, which is a wonderful program but not, at all, for site maps. At least, not for me. I know graphic artists can make it do backflips but I'm lucky if I can persuade it to select the text I want half the time.

And I'm rambling now. Bedtime.
