House report: Yesterday and today

Back by popular demand (OK, popular assent) and cut in deference to thebitterguy: lunch (and house) reports!

Yesterday, my aunt reported:

Today for lunch, Gill, Dan, John and I had submarine sandwiches.

Over the past few days--when I have been skylarking about taking notes on corporate governance and not providing lunch--Dan has finished grouting Rob's bathroom, done wood-filling, fixed Jen's bedroom doorway and other doorways, and blocked the draft in Jen's bedroom windows.

John has installed flip drawer under Jen's kitchen sink, put light in basement, worked on Jen's countertop (an ongoing and challenging task), and been to Rona twice.

I have provided lovely suggestions for bulb plantings.

A gay time has been had by all.

And today:

Today for lunch, Dan, John and I had warm steak sandwiches on French bread, with John's cream/shallot sauce, lettuce, basil mayonnaise, and tomato and dill.

Dan readied the basement for the influx of we don't know what tomorrow from Val's storage. Much hefting and heaving. He moved washer and dryer and has put the work area in front and storage in the back.

John and I slept in--not on purpose, just did.
