Nearly a year ago, we had the Distribution of Granny's Stuff.

Today it arrived. Neither Jen nor I has any more floor space. The movers were very good-natured, even the one who walked into the extra railing the building inspector made us put on the stairs (I knew it was going to impale somebody one of these days!). And better about knowing what went where than we were. I sent my dining room chairs down to the basement because AAAA NO ROOM.

At least I have sofas now! In fact, more sofas than I'm entitled to, because I'm giving pariah_ink's sofa houseroom until he gets a place (isn't that generous of me?).

I'm actually typing this leaning over the back of my desk chair because there is no longer any room to sit down. Help.

also, when I told mom you were getting your Granny's furniture today, her comment to me was "that's great. If it was YOUR grama, all the furniture would have been willed to Goodwill" ;).

Turns out I was confused when I posted that -- I got Granny's two-seater sofa. Which isn't big enough for anyone to sleep on, so I will need to find something when Mike takes his away. ;)

yay that it got unpacked safely in the snow. and that the mover was nice about being impaled. meep.

and heh...holy bat dren does have a certain ring to it. *veg* plus i can say it at work and no one has a clue what i *really* mean.

so....a colleciton of sofas? and you do need to room to sit down. i hope the process of organizing it goes well.

Thanks! As it turns out the snow was not all that impressive -- just a few flakes.

I've managed to pull the sofas and things into some sort of order. Of course it will all need to change! Does look nice though. I sat on the sofa by the window yesterday morning and drank my coffee and did Sudoku in the sunshine and felt all civilized.

the trouble with having to change everything....is that every time i sit down i see something else that needs to be moved "just so". i hope that if that happens to you it will at least be fun and brief. ;)
