Etana's going through school-related difficulties so it looks like I'm on my own with the site for a bit. Ulp. Need to throw a few more things up there like TBZF's New York con report, with photos. Also need to kick that fabulous Pioneer Press article out to a few papers! Tomorrow.
Had really almost nothing to do today, bleah. Hopefully tomorrow will bring Good Things, like a response on the Project from Hell, and another short project I'm taking on for Gia, and help with Thierry's project costs (ahahahahaha! -- really enjoyed those).
Poor Kate having trouble with her paper.
I think Paula may be right -- I need high-speed Internet access at home. Unfortunately this appears to mean upgrading my computer, so NOT an option unless Daddy gets all quixotic with one of his and/or the company starts selling them off again. Not even close to being a top priority, particularly if I want to go to Scotland...

Discovered the Gazette style guide today and it's a riot. Sample entries include:

Point of pride: cooked last night. However, failed to do yoga this morning. One day I will get all my ducks in a row (and then they will probably be run over by a passing motor scooter).

dead bodies. The word "dead" is probably unnecessary.
apostrophes. The apostrophe is a dandy little punctuation mark when used properly. One way not to use it properly is to try to make plurals with it. It's "the 1930s," not "the 1930's." (However, "the '30s" needs an apostrophe at the beginning of the numbers, because it's an abbreviation.) You try to keep up with the Joneses, not the Jones'. And anybody who would write "two bus's" keeps her Barbies in shoebox'.
