House update: Thursday
Jan. 4th, 2007 01:39 pmMy aunt reports:
Jen took her tree down last night. Needles EVERYWHERE. I'm amazed it wasn't bald by the time we got it to the curb.
I spent some time this morning phoning banks. Back and forth and back and forth. One needs the other to confirm my existence, which you'd think would be simple, but apparently they both cherish my privacy so much that they can't actually do anything useful. I have faxed them both a letter of authorization to talk to each other about me. I worked quite hard to remove the bitterness and sarcasm from it, which took some time, but here's hoping it works. At least the part about "and if this isn't what you need, please talk to each other to decide what you do need, and then tell me so we can all MOVE ON WITH OUR LIVES." I don't see why I, the non-banker, should be the one trying to deduce all this stuff.
Today for lunch, Dan, John and I had tuna salad sandwiches. One day we won't have construction dust all over everything... sigh.
Dan dodged the divine Maria all morning so that Jen and Rob could return to cleanth--soon-to-be-lost when he gets to the sanding planned. He played with woodwork and put a third layer of drywall coating on the patches.
John is investigating Taps for Rob's shower. Store is very helpful. John spent the morning here helping moi-meme by proofreading and rewriting for a thing due at noon.
Cheers, Helen
