No, this post has nothing to do with Iraq. I'm talking about the stupid changes-to-Daylight Saving Time thing. Last night my workplace (supposedly) applied a patch that would make sure the new DST change would take place at the correct time. This (supposedly) puts all our Lotus Notes calendar entries that are set for the window between March 11 and April 1 off by an hour, and (supposedly) they're going to fix that over the weekend. Except my calendar entries aren't off. So I phoned the Help Desk. Presumably they will do something about this. I have a bad feeling about those 3 weeks worth of meetings, though. I have a lot of meetings coming up.

Personally I was quite happy with the old DST rules, thank you very much. Won't somebody think of the cows? (pace lawgeekgurl)

LOL! Whereas I wish they would do the switch in March and never switch back, dammit! I prefer late sunlight. The cows can bite me. Or, heck, they can cook themselves and jump into my plate so I can bite them. :)

Actually the cows would also prefer never switching (apparently).

Me, I figure one arbitrary rule is as good as another, so why do we suddenly have to swap? Failing that, why can't we adopt my original plan of combining daylight saving and leap years so that we get an hour's extra sleep every two months? That would be awesome.

I can't stand the DST thing. Can't we just pick a time and stay in it? ALL OF US? I'm sick of Australia and Europe staining our hours before they get to us.
