So I am now 666 of 3372 on the hold list for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

I'm pretty sure I started off around the 690 mark -- some people must have caved and ordered their own copies.

As the library has ordered 571 of the things, I don't anticipate being too far behind the curve. I have been wondering if they plan to have a special flying squad of librarians to pounce on them as soon as they arrive and get them into the system, or if they'll just get shunted into the queue.

My number is in the low one thousands, so I'm not anticipating waiting long, but I'm worried it'll be just long enough for me to get spoilered.

I'm thinking of torrenting the audio book. I feel guilty, but it's in the name of being spoiler-free! And I'll buy it in paperback...

I *heart* the Toronto Public Library. They always have everything, and, in this case, suitable numbers of copies of everything.

You could always stalk your local branch waiting for it to show up on the Best Bets shelf. Those are only allowed out for a week.
