So a few weeks before I went on holiday my library book system went all to hell. I renewed everything I had out, but when I got back one thing led to another and I forgot they were due almost instantly and I owe the library $8.70, which could be worse. But really none of them appealed particularly; I seem to have hit the stage I hit periodically, in which I want nothing to do with serious reading and stick exclusively to Golden Age murder mysteries and other comfort reads. If I've read 'em already, so much the better. It's been a solid diet of Agatha Christie, Patricia Wentworth, Georgette Heyer, Margery Allingham, Terry Pratchett, Emma Lathen, Sarah Caudwell, and Dorothy Sayers since I got back (Ngaio Marsh is missing from the list only because there haven't been any handy). But I do feel that perhaps I have given the ill-fated batch of library books short shrift. So, dear flist, please help me by filling out this poll:
