Apr. 19th, 2003 08:14 pmGuess what? I lied. My kitchen is still uncleaned. Might get up in a bit and deal with it. However, today I read part of The Stone Carvers (really enjoying it btw), called the Globe to complain that they're leaving my paper next door, went to the gym, bought tulips, met Mary for coffee, walked around Monkland Village with Esther and had an early dinner at the Claremont, where I dove once again into my copy of Lonely Planet Scotland. So I don't feel too bad about my kitchen. Dirty dishes are forever, but nice days you can spend with your friends are few and far between.
Saw a small child at the gym, about 4 years old, there with his father; Daddy would stretch and son would imitate. It was extremely cute. I'm getting to recognize people; the scary thin woman with too much makeup wasn't in, but there was a woman in her 70s using the weight machines. Good on her, I say.
Flipping through the paper I notice a story about a poll saying 48% of US consumers would consider substituting Canadian products with non-Canadian ones. The French are doing even worse. Here's the part I liked, though: "Seventy-nine per cent [of poll respondents] knew that Canadian Club whisky was Canadian..."
Easter lunch with cousins tomorrow. I'm not feeling nearly as alone and far from family as I was on Thursday.
