Bah. Well, at least it wasn't doing this on the weekend. Grim, cold, rainy, wretched, ugh.

Brought work home (much later than I planned to, but somehow meetings and whatnot kept sneaking up on me, not to mention Steve had to find me a laptop with Office on it). It's not going as speedily as I could wish, but that could be either Monday after a long weekend or the fact that I'm so damn sick of these storyboards.

That, and Emmett was putting molding on my door when I got in. The new owners want to pretty the place up, it seems. He put one kind on my door and another kind on his and Kathy's. Looks a tad bizarre. Anyway, this meant lots of electric-drill noises for the first half hour. (It's not my fault! Not that a girl playing Nine Inch Nails has any right to complain.)

Oh well, I have tea and I braved the outdoors to get shortbread (all the fancy fishmonger's/grocery store across the way could provide, but do you see me complaining?). Life could be worse. And having two laptops running at once is fostering a delightful illusion of geekitude in me.

Back to my storyboards...

Bummer on the rain.

We were supposed to get some, I was sure the skies were going to open up any minute, but then it got nice. (But then I got home after the lawyer's office visit and fell asleep so I probably missed most of it. Hmph.)

Did you guys have today off?

Not that it really resembles your situation, but when I was doing the temp job, I had to pass the Pizza Pizza on Yonge & Eg every day to get to the subway and they had scaffolding and blue tarps up the whole time (possibly longer). Today I go past it and the scaffolding is gone, tarp is gone ... and the Pizza Pizza looks pretty much the same, except lining the windows and doorframe is ... wood. Slabs of wood. I'm like, "all that pounding and drilling and swearing and smoking and you put Wood. Around. The. Doorframe?? For a month?? Fer Pete's sake.

Easter Monday

It's a bit bizarre here... you get one day off, but you get to pick which one. We voted on Friday, so Friday it was, but a lot of people took Monday off anyway, so it was pretty quiet. And no mail delivery, the buses are on a Saturday schedule, etc., etc.

A month of renovations for a new doorframe, huh? *snicker*
