1. Guess who dug in someone's bag and stole and ate an entire plastic baggie full of ham at the dog park today? Go on, guess. You'll never guess. (Yes, he ate the baggie too. I'm expecting to see it again at some point.) Gotta work on that "drop" command. Now, mind you, the owner of the bag let him stand on her and snuffle around in the bag for a good 15 seconds -- she said "It was shoved right down in there! I didn't think he'd get it!" Um, yeah. This is why I don't let dogs near my bag. ;)

2. Via Uncertain Principles, my new favourite scientific article of all time (there's a PDF link).

Fortunately, a live presentation of the results was also captured on video.

3. This is an extremely dangerous website for me. *cough*

4. It is chucking down rain here, and our basement is a bit damp.

Tristan once snarfled an entire carrot bag. Including the bag. The entire thing, in the thirty seconds I was in the tack room. He had to reach for it, too, and knocked many things over getting to it.

This is one of the many reasons I tell people he's a dog in a horse body.

Juno ate a grocery bag once. Just inhaled it. She didn't colic, but we never found it out the other end, either....

Troubling! But I'm glad there were no ill effects.

(Am happy to report that the bag has reappeared. No trace of the ham though.)

I find #1 hilarious. Also, you and kath (Jen, too, if she's interested) and I should do something sometime. Like brunch after the 16th, or Hellboy when the thesisisisis is done.

I hope he's already feeling better and that things have, er...passed. I once knew a horse (belonged to an old friend of mine) who ate a small baggie with chicken in it. He was OK, but the whole thing baffled us.

The baggie has reappeared, slightly the worse for wear.

I have more or less given up worrying since the Easter Stash Incident. If he can survive eating about 20 foil-wrapped Easter eggs (the foil came back about 2 days later), he can survive anything.

Silly dog.

Chicken?! (Er, see item 2 above.)

Wow, the Easter incident...that is a big scary. Clearly this is one tough doggie. With added doggie baggie? Er, sorry, couldn't resist.

At least the appearance of the bag and the tin foil gives you a good idea about his rate of digestion?

well, they don't generally go all the way through.

Never did I think I would become so fascinated by/intimate with the workings of another being's digestive tract...
