It won't be long before they start actually making guns as accessories. Soon, there'll be a weapon to go with everything from thrift store chic to Chanel and Louis Vuitton. No one should feel left out of this can't miss trend.
I abhor guns. I wouldn't send my child to a school where teachers were allowed to carry them. If I found out my neighbours had a gun, I'd want to move.
The Second Amendment is beyond stupid. Or taking the Second Amendment out of historical context is beyond stupid. Possibly both.
while I am not at all sure teachers should be armed, and while I'd be lying if I said certain aspects of the gun culture in the States and in parts of Canada don't concern me (hmmm, mangled sentence much?), I do not believe that guns are across the board bad.
But I come from a different context, where guns can save lives (they can protect my beloved animals from bears and coyotes)and they can save suffering (veterinary assisted euthanasia isn't always an option, and there are humane alternatives).
Do I love guns? nope, not really. They are loud, and needing one means something is shitty to start with (there is a threat of some sort, always). I don't know how to shoot well enough for safety, but I know how to safely handle a rifle. I should know how to shoot, better, but I so far choose not too, because there is responsibility and hard choices entailed in me doing so. And I am scared of that. But guns have a place(probably NOT in schools, though!),and I am not sorry to have friends and family who know how to use them better than I.
