I aten't dead

I'm pretty sure, anyway. New website still hasn't launched. Maybe tomorrow. Have no life. Have started running, well, Couch to 5K Week 2 sort of counts as running. Blue seems to like it. Blue is spending days at uncle John's because he apparently howls all day when left alone and the neighbours complain and think I am a Bad Person. Read 33 books in October -- just because reading is more socially acceptable than eating or drinking or gambling to excess or doing drugs, doesn't mean it isn't my crutch for when things get overwhelming, or that that's necessarily a good thing. Jen is madly studying for CFA Level 1 exam in 3 weeks. We are a thrilling pair.

Good things: Choir has started up again; they were mostly good books; it's light in the mornings again; birthday was good; Blue's industrial-grade freakouts on walks (generally triggered by cats, Bernese Mountain Dogs, certain Golden Retrievers, and that one Shih Tzu) seem to be getting slightly rarer; my Science Tarot deck finally arrived! (More on that one of these days, maybe.)

Less good things: It's dark in the evenings again; I have no life.

Please keep your fingers crossed that Friday's paycheck contains my pay increase what was promised me in May when I got promoted (well, new job title to reflect all the stuff I do anyway). That would be nice. I repeat: I have been waiting for this since MAY.
