Mood: Outraged

So I was under the impression that I couldn't actually get any angrier about the prisoners from the Afghanistan war being held without trial in Guantanamo Bay. Then NPR informed me that there were kids as young as 13 being held there (in a separate facility, but with no access to legal representation, no trials, the whole same deal). I almost ran off the road. There's a link about halfway down this page where you can get the audio.

Then they played this story and depressed me even more.

The only thing that really surprises me about the US government these days is the fact that in some ways they actually are defending democracy and freedom... its a dim world view, but by comparison the US doesn't look that bad.
