ramble, ramble
May. 5th, 2003 10:49 pmI saw X2.
Man, that was fun. While I'm not sure I share this unhealthy passion for Wolverine that's going around, I was very taken with Nightcrawler.
I actually had to take a parcel to FedEx, and then I was in the neighbourhood, and I remembered the Paramount is now charging $9.95 all the time (which is still highway robbery, but better than $12.50), and it seemed Meant. So I went.
In work news, things I have been putting off returned to bite me in the ass today; I'm not altogether sure how I'm going to get everything done tomorrow before I leave, but I guess I'll have to give it my best shot; a new project manager just started; we now have an interesting girls-vs-boys configuration down our side of the office (Steph, me, Gia, Wendy on one side of the partition, Martin, Jocelyn, Anthony and Mauro on the other); and Steph is pulling way out in front in the unofficial clients-that-most-need-to-be-killed competition.
Strong words, I know, but let me explain. She has 3 golds going out this week (which in itself would be enough to kill a lesser woman). On one, which has now been hanging around for over 2 years (I was briefly an editor on it, and it had already had a couple before me) the client did some usability testing last week; the result: "You need to add a tutorial. People don't understand how to exit the program." (Did they try the little button marked "Exit", by any chance?)
And the second thing? They've just changed the product logo. (If anyone is interested, the new version will be logo #4 since I have known the project; at least they are sticking with name #3. So far.) Meaning, at the very least, that they need to redesign the binder cover and the CD label, and possibly replace the logo in the interface into the bargain. It will just be everyone's rotten luck if the thing clashes. Do they have the logo to give us? Of course not.
KILL THEM ALL!
In holiday news, we are booked into the hostel in Kirkwall for 3 nights and I just emailed the bus/ferry people about getting there. Also, Mike gave me Stuart's email so we may get to see him. Also, I have gloated to the entire pool-tournament crew about why I can't make this month's game on Wednesday.
Did I mention that in 2 days we'll be on a plane?
Now, must send email and go to bed. Gotta be up early in the morning.
