Spotted on a poster this morning:

"If I can't dance, it's not my revolution."
a variation on what I had originally heard, that being:

"If I can't dance, I don't want to be part of your revolution."
and this page confuses the issue still further with:

"If I can’t dance to it, it’s not my revolution."
Fortunately, someone called Heathengirl has investigated the situation. Turns out Goldman may not have said any of the above at all. Too bad. She did, however, say this:

"We shall soon be obliged to meet in cellars, or in darkened rooms with closed doors, and speak in whispers lest our next door neighbors should hear that freeborn citizens dare not speak in the open." (Emma Goldman, "Free Speech in Chicago," Lucifer the Lightbearer 30 November 1902)
Also this:

"In the face of this approaching disaster, it behooves men and women not yet overcome by war madness to raise their voice of protest, to call the attention of the people to the crime and outrage which are about to be perpetrated on them." (Emma Goldman, "Preparedness, The Road to Universal Slaughter," Mother Earth December 1915)
This rockin' feminist moment brought to you by Red Emma Goldman, anarchist feminist agitator.

My LiveJournal Sitcom
electricland And hamster (TBS, 2:30): electricland (Sophia Loren) can't find headgardener (Téa Leoni)'s wristwatch and pretends it was never missing. The next day, hodsthorn (Penelope Cruz) borrows money from blackcustard (Dolph Lundgren)'s professor. That same day, ipanicked (Laura Campbell) burns bryghtboy (Billy Crystal)'s apple. Soon afterwards, mrdankelly (Calista Flockhart) and mr_weasel (Anna Chlumsky) perform slapstick at a day spa. Afterwards, ivilon (Horatio Sanz) causes problems at work when a file from valancyjane (Lena Horne) has a virus. TV-14.

As so often, I blame [livejournal.com profile] kendokamel for this one.

"and I said 'have you got anything in mauve?' and he said 'no we haven't got anything in mauve'..."

Um. Too much cutting and pasting has pasted my brain. The latest script changes are highlighted in mauve and...

never mind.

I believe we had left off in Georgeville at long last...
