(no. 2 in a continuing series)

...people who wish to use the word "criteria" will be required to know that it is a plural noun, and use an appropriate verb. The same applies to "phenomena".

The New England Journal of Medicine should know better.

So, 2005's library list wasn't quite as lovingly maintained as I could wish, but it's a start. Here's 2006's. This will supplement the Striped Binder of Doooom, where I really am trying to keep track of EVERYTHING I read, or want to read. Pause for hysterical laughter. Thank you.

Feel absolutely free to skip this post, unless you like this kind of thing.

Got home from work to find a note from my dad saying that my mother had hurt her wrist playing tennis and was in the ER at Mount Sinai. (I work across the street from Mount Sinai, but in the way of these things, nobody called me... oh well.)

She just called, and it turns out she broke her wrist. Being my mother, she immediately said "It's just a hairline fracture, and it wasn't out of position or anything, so it's really fine." But she BROKE her WRIST! Wah!

Anyway, she's on her way home now.

My mum is home. Her left wrist (which is her dominant hand, of course) is encased in plaster. She claims it doesn't hurt, except when she moves it, and she's supposed to keep wiggling the fingers.

Still, glad it's no worse.
