House update: Paint

We spent a great deal of time yesterday figuring out what we need in what colours. (Well, Jen did and I helped.) She was very relieved that we could buy it untinted and get it tinted later. (Edit: you were going to get a whole long list of paint colours and quantities, but the LJ Rich Text editor sucks just as much as any of its brethren that I've ever encountered, so you can get a table or a cut but not both, and I can't be bothered doing it the hard way. Sorry. The documentation will just have to be incomplete.)
There are now 29 gallons of paint sitting in my parents’ dining room! I took about an hour and a half, but the guy at Rona was very helpful and keen to help me take advantage of the sale as far as possible. We got eight cans for free – it should have been only 7 but when Mike and I got them out of the car, there was an extra. I’m not really surprised, because it was more than a little confusing. I had to pay for each set of three cans, with the appropriate free one, separately, so I was hauling tins out of the cart, onto the counter, onto the floor, back into the cart, etc. But we saved about $400, I think.
Now, we just need to get it all on the walls!
