My aunt reports:

Today for lunch, Stuart, Dan, David, John and I had fajitas. Gill joined us late, and brought her own sandwich.

Stuart is finishing Robin's bookcase. John patched the hole in Robin's third floor wall.

John talked to Ed the floor and has postponed the final varnishing because of the moving-a-whole-lot-of-stuff problem. He will talk to Ed about coming in soon to do the third floor because Robin's things are coming out of storage.

And Mike sanded my bedroom and living room last night - Dad and I cleaned.
Jen is also a tad frustrated by lack of apparent progress. However, ever the optimist, she's drawn up a list of stuff we need to get done this weekend.

[livejournal.com profile] thassalia has a list up of things in a book that turn her off. I found it interesting because it intersects with mine at so few points, and yet I totally see where she's coming from (most of the time -- I'm still finding the second point a tad impenetrable). Most of the time I'm a fairly uncritical reader, so much so that in my more paranoid moments I wonder if I just have no taste whatever and will read anything that comes my way. (In my less paranoid moments I figure I'm just good at telling beforehand what I'm not going to like, and avoiding it.)

I do have things that will yank me out of the story and, in some cases, make me stop reading, though. Read more... )
