Happy Halloween to all!

I'm in costume (same costume as Saturday night -- I confess I sort of wimped out and wore a long coat on the bus, so you couldn't really see much of it). It's silly, given that my office tends to be unvisited by the masses. But I don't care. I'll head over to the hospital at lunch to pick up my Metropass, show off, and see what's going on.

Tonight: handing out candy at the door of the House (first time!), then dinner with my parents and Jen. And crankygrrl's coming home! Hurray!

oh dear...

Ms. crankygrrl missed her flight. She'll be back tomorrow instead.

Not that an extra day of vacation is ALL bad. Still. Oops.

My Hotmail account is full of incident and excitement today

I talked myself into writing a review for Enlightenment (I'll be finished with the IA course and the partridges by deadline! No problem!).

And my cousin and her husband have arrived safely in Malawi, where they'll be for the next year (possibly two) -- they've posted pictures. But they haven't run into Madonna.

My colleagues just surprised me with pie! And a card of one of our characters from the kids' site, with cake and FANGS! (And bats. And blood. I love it.)

They couldn't believe I was actually surprised, given the amount of noise they'd made getting ready. I'm very easy to fool, especially when my mind's on something else.

I also went over to the hospital -- it was awesome to see all the little trick-or-treaters in costume. Quite a few staff in costume too -- I wasn't the only one.

So far, an excellent birthday. (Although my shoes are shredding my feet again.) And thank you to everyone who's given me birthday wishes!
