I have received Christmas cards! I keep forgetting to post about this, because I put them down and they get lost in the giant mass of paper that is slowly taking over my entire floor (if I'm hit by a bus, tell them I had a plan for tidying up my living room, 'k?). But yes, I have received cards. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mickeytor, [livejournal.com profile] mrs_cake, [livejournal.com profile] evilgoddss, and [livejournal.com profile] scapersuse -- also to [livejournal.com profile] gurudata and [livejournal.com profile] kanecool for the cool prezzie, which I plan to post at the office as soon as it is 2005. Some of my non-LJ relatives and friends also managed to dig up my address, which is impressive because I've been keeping it something of a deep dark secret.

I also found out why the downstairs neighbours' mail kept ending up in my box -- turns out it's a shared box and the other one belongs to the guy in the basement (guy in the basement? I keep learning more about my abode). So my growing irritation was unjustified, and I've put their mail back where it belongs, and we'll just have to hope that they actually take it at some point.

cards and presents! oh my!

or, me, late. Very very late. And didn't really send cards. Oops.

Your present is on its way. Um.

It might even make it there by tomorrow, if Canada Post is feeling especially sprightly... (a word last heard in conjunction with cabbages, if you can believe that).

Do the downstairs neighbors know where their mail is supposed to go? Maybe they haven't picked it up because they aren't looking in the right place?

Well, they've lived there longer than me, so I hope they know where it's supposed to go. Turns out I was taking their mail out of the right (shared) box, because I thought it was MINE ALL MINE!, and putting it in the wrong (basement) box, which was put up by the basement guy (I guess he doesn't like having his mail polluted?).

You'd think they'd have twigged at some point during the WEEK this has been going on, so you may have a point, but.... The good news is that there's now no need to raise my blood pressure over this -- it's a minor nuisance to have to sort out the mail standing in my doorway, but I no longer have to curse the mailman for stupidity. I can go back to muttering about the chain-smoking instead.
