House updates
Nov. 1st, 2005 04:12 pmToday, from my aunt:
Saturday we did vapour barrier. We're getting quite good at it, although the black goop managed to get on my jacket (how? how? jacket wasn't even on the same floor!).
Friday report:
And I still have to call Sears andcancel postpone the appliance delivery for the third time.
Today for lunch, John, Dan and I had Juvenal beef sandwiches.I find this deeply confusing, but assume that it is a positive sign and related to the phone questions I got yesterday regarding my plumbing. There was no update yesterday.
Below is an update from Dennis, For inclusion in the daily update:
The copper plumbing is now finished on the second and third floors, although the connections to Robin’s bath have just been capped awaiting the bath being moved into position.
The 99th change in Jen’s bathroom plumbing will be done when Brian the Tile drills the appropriate holes through the tiles. Hopefully I can escape to England before any more changes are contemplated.

As of today, John reports--he wrote this-- that Dan bored a hole in floor inside wall between Robin's kitchen and bathroom for combined vent from Jen's bathroom (and Robin's tub). Cut a pipe and discovered that John [Dan did not say this directly] had bought the wrong size.
John, on Brian's instructions, broke out two tiles from Jen's bathroom wall (for sink drain and water supply). Now we have to eparie the wall behind the tiles . . . .Cheers, John

Friday report:
Today for lunch, Dan, David, John and I had ouzo shrimp and courgette, with peppers. We are going to go ahead with the Housewarming Trilogy, Part 1 this Saturday. Limited guest list because I'm not really sure how many people we can inflict our far-from-finished house on. But with any luck there will be a bathroom.
Brian the Tile has been there--sometime--and the floor on Jen's bathroom floor is almost done. Also the toilet flange--don't ask me.
The guys are working on the plastic plumbing, starting from the bottom up. John is working in Jen's kitchen, the hooligans are working on Jen's bathroom, going up towards the second floor sink and then to the third floor. Dan says, "What doesn't kill you, teaches you how to plastic plumb."
There is a need to tape the greenboard in Robin's bathroom.
Cheers all, Helen.
