State of my health report - because I know you care deeply

I've decided my viruses are migratory, like a herd of stampeding wildebeest. It's the only explanation I can come up with for why the cough has stopped but I'm now completely congested: they have exhausted all the fodder in my trachea and have headed for the hills my sinuses.

That, or this whole germ theory of disease is irredeemably flawed and there's a half-inch demon running around my nasopharyngeal region and vandalizing my mucous membranes.

I bought some long-acting decongestant this morning in hopes that I won't wake up at 5 a.m. tomorrow.

Can this go away soon, please?

Blackout!

Well, no sooner had I finished bitching about the state of my health than the power went out. No lights, no phones, and all the computers dying in one mass exhalation. The server room was a hive of activity with all the machines emitting plaintive "feed me!" beeps at intervals.

The people across the street had power, so it may have been just this block. Lacks the grandeur of the Great August Blackout of '03, but I missed that one, so this will have to do. What with Sunday's blackout at home, I must be up to my quota.

Anyway, it's back now, obviously, but email is painfully slow, and whatever motivation I may have had to begin with is all gone.
