Tentpegging. I had vaguely heard of it before, but this guy sounds really cool [that's a Real Audio link, so no promises, but the delightful Scottish accent certainly doesn't hurt]. Especially liked the line "I'll have to make up for my deficit of skill with a surplus of reckless abandon."

Also, Spices Cafe on Temperance sounds amazing. (The review isn't up yet. C'mon, CBC, get your act together!) (Ah, here it is.)

Also, this doesn't really count as part of this post because I heard it yesterday, but I am following the odyssey of Dorothy the skunk with interest.

There won't be many more of these --
Helen figures once Dan stops working on the house, which is any day now,

Also, Basta's people are home, so she is going home too. I'll miss her! I
expect Tilde will be happy though -- no more need to share treats and
snuggles. On the other hand, she'll have to take on the whole
barking-at-the-door load herself. (I was hoping Basta would train Tilde
out of that habit, but it seems to have worked in reverse. Oh dear.)

I've always thought of this as Anna Nicole Smith's song. It's peppy and bouncy and gets a quite extraordinary number of syllables into perfect shape. I'm finding it a little bittersweet just at the moment.
