mmmfood.

Left work at 5 (insanely early, but there was really nothing going on), stopped in at Provigo for groceries, came home and stir-fried stuff because I was extremely hungry. Haven't stir-fried anything in ages (I hate chopping things most of the time) but this worked out well: I marinated some tofu overnight in soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, garlic and ginger, then chopped up the last of the asparagus, some broccoli, mushrooms, celery, red pepper and green onions. Stir-fried it all in sesame oil and served over rice.

I feel much better now. (I've been quoting that line fairly frequently over the last week but fail to get any recognition on it. Shame.)

Damn it feels weird to be home this early. Good weird, but weird.

Would that quote be from the Father of a certain judge Harry T. Stone from Night Court?

Stir-fry is great... whatever happens to be around you just kind of hack at it and throw it on in :) Seasame oil is perhaps the best oil I've yet tasted, use it for anything and it tastes so much better. :)

sigh... nope, please try again. (That is, maybe it is, but that's not who I'm quoting.)

Yes, I'm liking the sesame oil. I have a largish bottle of it, which is great.

It's from a movie sequel.

Tofu. Urgh. I still haven't found a way of cooking/preparing tofu that I actually like. I can drink soymilk (well, if it's vanilla or chocolate flavoured) but still can't get it together with the tofu. And tofu-cheese? The most vile stuff on Earth. Ew.

How sad is it that people think leaving work at 5 is early? Damn. That's just frelled up, man. People work way too hard.

Well, I haven't yet had the courage to even try soymilk, so there you go!

I find that marinating tofu works pretty well. At least, it did this time. It needs a lot of taste before I find it acceptable! Marinating it overnight was the solution, I think.

(and don't feel TOO sorry for me with the leaving-work thing... recall that I often don't GET to work until 10... although I'm hoping to change that!)

Erm. . . .Ms. ELL --> METHINKS that ScaperSuse's point is that you (and many others) work too hard. It used to be NORMAL to leave work at 5PM. Not ABNORMAL. She was NOT feeling sorry for you -- rather, she was, but because you don't get to leave work at 5 more often. . . .
